Nach der Präsidentenwahl in Belarus (Weissrussland) bleibt die politische Lage in der Ex-Sowjetrepublik ungewiss. Die Wahlkommission hat Staatschef Alexander Lukaschenko zum Sieger der Präsidentenwahl erklärt. Der 65-Jährige habe 80,23 Prozent der Stimmen bei dem Urnengang am Sonntag erzielt. Lukaschenkos Gegnerin, Swetlana Tichanowskaja, kündigte bereits an, eine Niederlage nicht anzuerkennen. Sie soll 9,9 Prozent der Stimmen erhalten haben.
Zuvor hatten in der Nacht zum Montag Menschen landesweit gegen Wahlfälschung protestiert. Es kam zu blutigen Zusammenstössen mit der Polizei. Obwohl das Internet phasenweise down war, gelangen viele Bilder der blutigen Nacht nach draussen. Wir haben eine kleine Auswahl getroffen.
